Bonfire Night Hot Dogs
Ingredients
Classic Comfort Hot dog
- 2 brioche hot dog buns
- 2 smoky pork sausages
- 2 tbsp caramelised onions
- 2 tbsp crispy shallots
- 2 tbsp IOW Classic Tomato Ketchup
- Fresh thyme leaves and flaky sea salt, to garnish
Bright & Zingy Hot Dog
- 2 veggie sausages
- 2 brioche buns
- ½ small apple, grated
- ½ cup shredded cabbage
- 1 tbsp pickled onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp IOW Green Tomato Ketchup
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander
- Lime zest, to garnish
Spicy Bonfire Hot Dog
- 2 chorizo sausages
- 2 crusty rolls
- 1 roasted red pepper, sliced
- 2 tbsp crumbled feta
- 2 tbsp IOW Smoked Tomato Hot Sauce
- Chilli flakes and chopped parsley, to garnish
Method
Cook all sausages in a frying pan or on a grill over medium heat until golden and cooked through.
Warm the buns or rolls lightly under the grill or in a dry pan.
For the Classic Comfort:
Place the sausage into a brioche bun. Top with caramelised onions and crispy shallots, then drizzle generously with Classic Tomato Ketchup. Finish with thyme leaves and a pinch of flaky salt.
For the Bright & Zingy:
Mix the grated apple and shredded cabbage with a pinch of salt to make a quick slaw. Place the veggie sausage into the bun, top with slaw and pickled onions, then drizzle with Green Tomato Ketchup. Garnish with coriander and lime zest.
For the Spicy Bonfire:
Layer the roasted peppers in the roll, add the chorizo sausage, crumble over the feta, and finish with a bold drizzle of Smoked Tomato Hot Sauce. Sprinkle with chilli flakes and parsley.
